Outfit of the Week

Top - Cotton On // Shorts- Brandy Melville

Comfort. Summer clothing definitely needs to be comfortable. Nothing worse than sweating it out in a pair of jeans and boots, even if they are your favourites. With this outfit, I asked my beautiful sister to put on what she thinks is her comfiest outfit, and she delivered. A cute, lightweight singlet top and a pair of flowy shorts in the softest fabric imaginable. Perfect for keeping cool and relaxing.

Photo Diary

I do love the beach! The sand between my toes, the salt in the air and the beautiful glow you get from being submerged in nature. My sister, a friend, my mum and I all packed up and headed up to the beach for a true holiday for four days full of ice cream, swimming, salty hair, afternoon naps and plenty of reading. I wish every week could be as relaxing and peaceful as this one was.

Until next time my lovelies,

Outfit of the Week

Hat- Witchery // Jumpsuit- H & M // Boots- Century 21

Hello!

My gorgeous sister allowed me to take some quick photos of her, and I love the way they turned out. Her jumpsuit is from H&M, her hat is from Witchery and we picked up her boots from Century 21 whilst we were lucky enough to be on holiday in New York.

Feeling Grateful

This week, I woke to the devastating reports of a number of people being held hostage within a café in Sydney. I was completely shocked, as was the rest of the country. I then began to think about how those being held would be feeling and how worried their families and friends would be for them.

These thoughts led me to the conclusion of how lucky I am to be without those fears and worries and I felt overwhelmingly grateful for my situation. To express these emotions, I compiled a simple list of ten things I am extremely grateful for:

1. My loving and supportive family
2. My brilliant and kind friends
3. Bright sunny days with the perfect breeze to cool you down
4. My hilarious and loving furry friend, Rosie the dog
5. Sunday barbeques with the neighbours
6. My ability to run, walk, and exercise
7. Sunny days at the beach with perfect waves
8. My journey into self-acceptance, as it has taught me a lot about myself
9. Eating something you spent time and put effort into cooking
10. Simply being in a country where my safety is almost guaranteed, education is compulsory for everyone and women are free to make their own decisions

I find creating lists to be very therapeutic and creating a list or just jotting down what you were grateful for and what made you happy throughout your day is an effective way to reflect on the day you've just experienced. Start with making a list of three and as you begin to get the feel for what makes you happy, you will start to notice how things make you feel, and you will actively seek out and do  those things. Once you start doing this your list will be so long, you will wonder why you didn't start writing down the happy things a very long time ago!

Until next time my lovelies,

What's in my Bag: Beach Essentials

Hello!

I am heading off to the beach with some lovely friends this weekend and I thought to post what I consider to be essentials to take to the beach.

1. Music
All good adventures should have a soundtrack, and I have chosen two of my favourite albums right now to accompany me on my trip. The first is The 1975's self titled album and Vampire Weekends album Modern Vampires of the City. These albums are a perfect balance of chilled out sounds, and those songs that you just want to dance to.

2. Wrangler Jeans
These jeans are amazing. They are super comfy, flattering and timeless, definitely worth the money. Just a warning with Wrangler jeans, they stretch between one to two sizes. I would normally be a size 9, and I bought a size 7, I wore them for a week and now they fit perfectly! If possible, I recommend visiting a shop that stocks wrangler jeans to try on a pair, even if they aren't the ones you wanted, to try sizing before purchasing online.

3. Kimono
My kimono from Glassons is sadly no longer available as I bought it last year, however the new range is as cool and fresh as this is. Glassons' is one of my favourite store as the quality, range and pricing is incredible. A kimono is also a great accessory to have at the beach as not only is it a fashionable item but it is also a great way to give yourself some sun protection.

4. Tigerlily Bikini
Unfortunately, my bikini was also purchased last year and Tigerlily no longer stock this pattern. However, the shape of the bikini is a classic for the designer and there are many in the style with beautiful patterns. I love Tigerlily, once again for the quality, but also as it is an Australian brand with Australian designers being employed.

5. Yen Mag
A day at the beach would not be complete without a little something to read. I recently received my new Yen magazine in the mail and having been waiting for the perfect time to read through all of the beautiful articles and admire the beautiful photography and artworks inside.

6. Sunglasses
I don't remember where I got these sunglasses, but I thought to include them as a representation that no beach outfit is ever complete without a cool pair of shades. I have been loving John Lennon-esque style glasses and have picked out some favourites here and here

7. Good Ol' Pair of Thongs
You can never walk past a pair of thongs (pun intended) (I'm sorry), these rubber soled beauties will allow you to walk across hot footpaths and run across hot sand, to be promptly dumped on said sand as one runs into the ocean.

That's it for my list, let me know what you bring to the beach and I'm sure my list will grow!

Until next time my lovelies,

Neve xx

Fresh Start

Hello!

After much thought, I have decided to start my blog from scratch. I was personally uncomfortable with writing on my previous blog, fakedoubletake, and I didn't like the way it looked and simply the vibes I got from reading over old posts. I hope that you can forgive me, but I am certain that my new project will be able to fulfil my creative needs much better.

So here I am, giving it a second go! To start off on the right foot, I would like to give you guys a ten things about me:

1. My name is Neve
2. I am sixteen years old
3. I love fashion and the way it allows you to express yourself
4. If I could spend everyday at the beach, I would
5. Dogs are my favourite animals
6. I love, love, love music
7. I would really love to get into photography (better than web cam selfies, as seen above)
8. Christmas is my favourite holiday
9. Summer is my favourite season, but I love winter fashion the best
10. Pad Thai is probably my favourite food

On this blog, I am hoping to post twice a week as I am on holidays!! I will be posting things that interest me, and hopefully you as well. This blog is simply an extension of the journals I write and create and I am excited to see how far this will go.

Until next time my lovelies,
