Outfit of the Week

Top- Glassons // Skirt- Dotti // Hat- Markets // Shoes- Windsor Smith
My Christmas holidays have come to an end, and that means my summer days will now be spent nside at school. I decided to put on an outfit that reflected my want to be outside. The different tones of blue from my top and the skirt remind me of the sky, and my hat shows my want to be out in the sun. I hope you are all having a great week!

Until next time my lovelies,

January Wishlist

Left to Right- Kimono- Asos // 'It' -Alexa Chung // Sandals- Windsorsmith // T-Shirt- Cactei // Jeans- Pylo // Cropped Top- Pylo

A prominent part of human nature is to want things, and in this consumerist driven society that we live in, we are even more inclined to want things. Material items, clothes, shoes, jewellery, cars, and everything in between. I am merely human, and so I too want things. I am working on this, but in the meantime I have compiled a list of items I am wishing upon for this month.

What items have you been drooling over this month? Let me know in the comments!

December Favourites- Beauty, Hair Care and Other Items

I thought that I'd give a monthly favourites a go! For this months favourites I have a mixed bag of beauty, hair and general loving favourites. I have also added a musical and a blog favourite, which I think I will make a habit of as there is so much music and so many blogs out there to love!

Beauty Favourites

From Left to Right

1. Garnier BBcream
This BBcream is by far my favourite. The application is always so smooth and beautiful, and the finish is never heavy, leaving your skin naturally flawless. I also find that it is long lasting and does not easily slide off your face in the Australian summer heat! I use it in the shade light and if I need it to be darker I simply add some bronzer. I use this for going to work where only light makeup is allowed, but also for slapping on my face before going out with friends.

2. Keratin Complex Infusion Therapy
After using this hair care treatment, my hair has changed forever. This 'pink stuff' as it is known in my house is a blessing. My hair is naturally frizzy and dry, and in both winter and summer it is a nightmare to try to tame. I have tried everything, and then my hairdresser recommended this to me and I have never gone back. At first I was slightly disappointed that there were no immediate overnight results, but the beauty in this product is that it builds up over time and the more you use it, the better your hair becomes. I apply it every night before going to bed, but you can apply every second day or even just after you have a shower. You can also apply it to either wet or dry hair.

3. Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Show Off Mascara
One hell of a name and one hell of a mascara. Upon many people's recommendation I tried the Falsies Mascara, but I simply wasn't feeling the love. So when I used up the rest of that mascara I went on a hunt for a new one to try out. I do like Rimmel products so I was willing to give this a try and I have fallen in love! The formula is easy to apply and remove and makes my lashes look longer and thicker than any other mascara I have tried before. If you are on the lookout for a new mascara to try, give this one a go!

Other Favourites

Glasshouse Candle in Kyoto Fragrance
These candles are well known for their quality, and so they should be. Made from soy in the Glasshouse Mountains in Queensland, these locally produced beauties smell gorgeous and burn for more than 20 hours! This scent is rather sweet but holds an undertone of freshness that is addictive.

Yen Magazine
I have posted about this magazine before but over these summer holidays I have re-read all of my old issues and I have gained so much inspiration from them! I especially love how many talented Australians are featured. I do love supporting local produce/culture/everything

Asos Notebook
This cheeky notebook now holds all of my blog ideas, thoughts and memories.

Musical Favourite

This album is sometimes strange but always very beautiful. I have just been loving The Beatles this month, and this album is definitely one of my favourites.

 Blog Favourite

*The above logo is not mine, I only took it from Ella Denton's blog as I wanted to use an image from her blog.

This blog has been my biggest blog-crush for many months now. I absolutely love her photos, the things she posts about and the casual way in which she writes. Her posts interest me greatly and range from fashion to food to reflections about life's mysteries. I adore her blog and her instagram is just as beautiful. Check it out!

Well that's all for the month of December, I hope to do another monthly favourites in January, let me know in the comments what you loved this month or what I should check out. Also link some of your favourite blogs I would love to read more!

Until next time lovelies,

Outfit of the Week

I am a strong advocator for recycling, and so I thought that I would be able to reuse some of the posts that I loved from my old blog. This is a pretty special one as it was the first OOTW I photographed of my sister in my favourite dress of hers. This beautiful dress was handmade by a local Brisbane market stall holder, and the three quarter length sleeve with the gorgeous crotchet print is a beautiful take on the classic shift dress. Easy to dress up or down, this dress can be worn in all kinds of weather. I just love it. If you love it too, check out more of the designers stuff on her facebook page here.

Until next time my lovelies,

Outfit of the Week

School holidays are a time to gain a new skill so I've tried my hand at skateboarding, and I declare this so much fun. Sure, I can only ride my board around in circles on a netball court, but I stay on! I love the skater vibes I can then channel through my outfits. A classic pair of denim shorts with a cropped top and my forever reliable converse and I am all good to go. I am quite proud of how this shoot turned out, and I hope you enjoy it too.

Top 5 Albums of 2014

I love music, the way it makes you feel and the unique way it allows people to express ideas and emotions. 2014 brought out some really great and interesting music, and I would like to share my top 5 album picks that I really enjoyed this year.

Without further ado, and in no particular order, my top 5 albums of 2014:

Land of Pleasure- Sticky Fingers

An explosion of psychedelic rock and reggae tunes, completely unique and inspiring. Sticky Fingers second album delivers on the promises made on their debut album "Caress Your Soul". These tunes reminded me of the beach and hot relaxing days.
Favourite Track: Gold Snafu

Blue Planet Eyes- The Preatures

This killer debut album demonstrates the power this quintet holds. With funky, disco inspired beats, this band shows off their song writing skill. Great for dancing to.

Favourite Track: Cruel

1989- Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's best album to date, her song writing is brilliant, as is the balance of pop anthems to love ballads. This is an album that is the perfect soundtrack to hang out with friends to.
Favourite Track: Style

Puddinghead- Ball Park Music

A quirky and fun album full of witty lyrics and impossibly catchy beats. The darker songs contrast to the happy-go-lucky tunes, making it the ultimate chill out album.
Favourite Track: Cocaine Lion

Hozier- Hozier

An album of beautiful and haunting vocals and backing tracks. These soulful tunes are both breathtaking and inspiring, the perfect album to draw inspiration from.

Favourite Track: Jackie and Wilson

I hope you enjoy these albums as much as I did, and I am so excited to see what 2015 has to bring.

What were your favourite albums of 2014?

Until next time lovelies,

Neve xx
