Hello!
I am heading off to the beach with some lovely friends this weekend and I thought to post what I consider to be essentials to take to the beach.
1. Music
All good adventures should have a soundtrack, and I have chosen two of my favourite albums right now to accompany me on my trip. The first is The 1975's self titled album and Vampire Weekends album Modern Vampires of the City. These albums are a perfect balance of chilled out sounds, and those songs that you just want to dance to.
2. Wrangler Jeans
These jeans are amazing. They are super comfy, flattering and timeless, definitely worth the money. Just a warning with Wrangler jeans, they stretch between one to two sizes. I would normally be a size 9, and I bought a size 7, I wore them for a week and now they fit perfectly! If possible, I recommend visiting a shop that stocks wrangler jeans to try on a pair, even if they aren't the ones you wanted, to try sizing before purchasing online.
3. Kimono
My kimono from Glassons is sadly no longer available as I bought it last year, however the new range is as cool and fresh as this is. Glassons' is one of my favourite store as the quality, range and pricing is incredible. A kimono is also a great accessory to have at the beach as not only is it a fashionable item but it is also a great way to give yourself some sun protection.
4. Tigerlily Bikini
Unfortunately, my bikini was also purchased last year and Tigerlily no longer stock this pattern. However, the shape of the bikini is a classic for the designer and there are many in the style with beautiful patterns. I love Tigerlily, once again for the quality, but also as it is an Australian brand with Australian designers being employed.
5. Yen Mag
A day at the beach would not be complete without a little something to read. I recently received my new Yen magazine in the mail and having been waiting for the perfect time to read through all of the beautiful articles and admire the beautiful photography and artworks inside.
6. Sunglasses
I don't remember where I got these sunglasses, but I thought to include them as a representation that no beach outfit is ever complete without a cool pair of shades. I have been loving John Lennon-esque style glasses and have picked out some favourites here and here
7. Good Ol' Pair of Thongs
You can never walk past a pair of thongs (pun intended) (I'm sorry), these rubber soled beauties will allow you to walk across hot footpaths and run across hot sand, to be promptly dumped on said sand as one runs into the ocean.
That's it for my list, let me know what you bring to the beach and I'm sure my list will grow!
Until next time my lovelies,
Neve xx
