Concert Experiences- The 1975

I was lucky enough to see The 1975 live, once again, in my home city of Brisbane. It was the last show of their Australian tour, and it was alive with energy and excitement.

Despite it being a hot 35 degrees Celsius throughout the day, we were all ready to go. Upon arriving in the tent, the temperature rose to an estimated 40 degrees Celsius, which left many people uncomfortable, including myself. In the face of these harsh conditions, the quartet performed their hearts out and gave the audience one hell of a show.

Matty Healy, the frontman and the charisma behind the band, was charming and down to earth, really connecting with the audience and ensuring that everyone had a good time. The set was seamless, moving from one song to the other without hitch, beginning with The City and ending with the two hits Chocolate and Sex. These boys know how to work a crowd and get everyone involved.

I particularly liked how Matty encouraged people to put away their phones and to actually be present in the moment, "as the music is the reason we are all here tonight". I definitely took his advice, however I couldn't resist snapping a few photos, the lighting behind the band was just too good to resist!

I just love this band, the unique style of music and engaging way they performed makes me come back for more. I am keen for their second album to be released and the future shows they will put on.

Until next time my lovelies,

Neve xx
